Bo was born and raised on the flat lands of western Oklahoma where
red dirt reigns. As a child, he was introduced to classic country music
by his grandfather, Hansford Counts, who played and toured out of a
wagon powered by an old mare named Ginger. At age 12, he discovered
that music was the way to a young girl's heart when he learned to play
Margaritaville for his 6th grade sweetheart on an old J-45 guitar.
During his years at Oklahoma State University, Bo's love for music grew. However, destiny had other plans for him and his two Labradors on the
Gulf Coast of Texas. He continued to write his poetry on envelopes,
napkins and beer bottle labels, sharing his music exclusively with a loyal
audience of canines
Destiny called once again in 2002 when Bo visited the Mecca of country
music that is Nashville Tennessee. Seeing Hank Williams'original
manuscript of Your Cheatin' Heart written on a cocktail napkin validated Bo's own craft.
Walking down Broadway, he ran into an old friend who was
himself in pursuit of an artist's dream. Cole Deggs was established in
Nashville when the two met and reminisced about life in Texas. Spending
time with veteran Nashville writers and musicians inspired Bo to pursue
his love of music.
Upon his return to Texas, Bo began to hone his craft and to share his
music with the public. With the support of family and friends, Bo now
entertains folks from the Gulf Coast to the mountains of Colorado. On
any given night, Bo may be heard serenading local diners or simply playing
an old Waylon song for the seagulls who care to listen.
